The food is delicious, had an amazing steak and shrimp pasta, with some foie gras and cheese. The cheese maybe was not the best choice but that is understandable considering wich part of the world we were in.

I recommend the restaurant as a quality Italian alternative to local food.

Last week, we visited Passero, an Italian ristorante in this lovely residential district that is close to O River (7 min walk from Osaka Castle). We stumbled across this humble restaurant (12 seater) and was very surprised - full of flavor, wonderful balance and texture. Really delicious Italian and affordable dinners + smart wine pairings. It was so good that we visited TWICE!!
In the two nights that we visited, the outstanding dishes we tried -- (A) pastas - (1) mackerel; (2) beef tongue -- EXCELLENT. (B) Foie Gras; (C) Iberico Pork - EXCELLENT.
Passero is truly a Japanese jewel as it reflects the professionalism and hard work ethic of the chef - the Japanese chef handles both the service and kitchen!! We thought the service was going to be slow but it was FAST!! The chef handled everything so very well with no downtime despite having 6 diners. Amazing service.
The chef does not speak English and the menu is in Japanese -- however, Google translate works well .. snap a foto and translate. The chef is very patient and he has a great smile .. he helped us along, with a sincere attitude.
The open kitchen with dining area gives Passero a 'private dining experience' - like you are eating in the chef's home kitchen. Nothing pretentious, just very good quality Italian food.
We do wish to visit Passero again. Great Italian food, good personable service, good ambience and very affordable.
